Tequila.

This Mexican liquor is distilled from the fermented heart of the succulent silver (Agave tequilaza), previously steamed. It is an ingredient that, despite its relatively recent appearance in the world of cocktails, has become one of the most popular. One of the most famous is the “Margarita” cocktail, pale in color, served in a little frosty with salt and a slice of lime, and is recognized with the naked eye.
There are two types of Tequila:

White or silver tequila: let stand a short time, usually in stainless steel barrels. It is also colorless and a bit rough on the palate.
Golden Tequila: is subjected to an aging process of at least three years in oak barrels. It has a golden color, its flavor is softer and is more expensive.

Rum.

It is a distillate of the fermented sap of sugarcane, it comes in three varieties and is a very versatile base for all types of cocktails.

White Rum: light body and with a year of aging.
Golden Rum: it is made the same as white but lets it age three years, so that its flavor is softer and its color brighter.
Black Rum: it has a more penetrating flavor since it has remained at least five years in wooden barrels. It is then mixed and caramel may be added to make it darker. Without a doubt, it is the best choice to prepare punch.
