Whiskey.

It is the oldest known spirits drink. It occupies a position of honor in the world of Cocktails and is the basis of many famous combinations. There are different types of Whiskey, all of them characteristic flavor. First of all we have Bourbon Whiskey, distilled from a mixture of fermented cereals that contains a minimum of 51% corn.

It is the best known American Whiskey, so it appears in many of the classic cocktails. Also from North America is Rye Whiskey, made in the United States with a cereal mixture that contains at least 51% rye, while in Canada it is manufactured with a mixture of cereals that vary by brand.

We also have Scotch Whiskey, which can be of Single Malt variety (pure) or Blended type (mix). The first, made with dry, fermented and distilled malted barley, is aged for 10 years and is too delicate and expensive to make cocktails. For this we use the blended type, a mixture of cereals and malt whiskey. Finally, there is Irish Whiskey, which is similar to Scotch except for barley, which is dried differently.

Brandy.

It is distilled from grape juice or wine. Some of the most famous cocktails have a Brandy base. Fruit brandies, such as apple, are also often used.
